7 Month Update!

So here we are again, another month has gone by. You are getting to be such a smart little cookie. We just celebrated your first halloween, and I took you trick or treating with some friends, you wore a pumpkin costume and everyone commented about how cute you were!! Unfortunately dad was away at training and missed it, but we took lots of pictures for him! He was away for 3 weeks and it was clear you missed him a lot!! You even started saying "dadada", then a after a couple weeks and some serious practicing, you said "ma ma". It amazes us how much you are learning in a short amount of time.  We are so excited to have our first Thanksgiving and Christmas with you and love you so very much Morgan! xoxo

New this month:

  • You are sitting up unassisted
  • You are 13 lbs, 10 oz and 24 inches long
  • You say "dada" and "mama"
  • You started clapping your hands
  • You are still teething, or rather, showing signs of it- no teeth yet!
  • You wake up a few times at night for a bottle
  • You've officially mastered the army crawl, and you are quick!
  • You love your furrbrothers and laugh when they are playing by you!
  • I started giving you some baby food, and you love it!

Baby Carrier Review!

Hey there! So I don't know about you, but I just LOVE baby wearing. Being able to be hands free and have Morgan snuggled up to me is so helpful for the both of us! I decided I'd write a little review on the two different carriers I have tried, the Ergobaby and the Moby Wrap! Hope you find this helpful.

Untitled #11

Ergobaby

  • You can wear baby on your front, back and hip positions
  • For babies 7-45 lbs. (7-12lbs use infant insert, sold separately.
  • Comes in several different colors/patterns

  • Made out of cotton and is machine washable
  • Has a cover to put over top of babies head incase of rain/cold weather
  • You can buy at Target, Babies 'R Us and also online(be careful for fakes)
  • Straps are adjustable so you can get the perfect fit
  • Great for bring your baby for walks or to the grocery store and remaining hands-free!
Moby Wrap

  • You can wear your baby on your front and your hip.
  • For babies 8-35bs
  • Available in several different colors and some have designs to indicate the center.
  • Prices range from 39.99- 45.99
  • Made from all natural cotton and is machine washable
  • Available at Target, Walmart, Babies 'R Us and online.

So I've personally tried both of these carriers and I like them a lot! For me, the Moby Wrap is more ideal to use around the house. I found the long fabric to be tricky to get on while we were out and about, and it was the middle of summer when I had Morgan, so we would both get really hot when I wore her in it outside of my home. Now that she is bigger, I do notice the wrap itself will stretch out a bit when I carry her for longer amounts of time. So overall, I would recommend this to be used during the newborn stage.

As for the Ergobaby, I find this very helpful for when I go out and run errands. I love how easy it is to put on and she seems very comfortable in it. I would recommend this carrier to anyone who wants to start baby wearing! I know I will get a lot of use out of this because I love doing things outdoors and having Morgan in the Ergobaby will make our outings a lot easier.

I hope this review was helpful! Comment below and tell me any experience you have with these carriers or other ones. Thank you for reading! xoxo

Favorite Baby Items

Hey everyone! So I thought i'd make a collage of some of my favorite baby items so far. I have descriptions below of each item and a link to where you can find them :) I hope you find this helpful. xoxo

Favorite Baby Items

  • Fisher Price- My Little Lamb™ Cradle ’n Swing- I'll tell you what, this item was (and still is) a HUGE lifesaver in our house! For the first couple months of her life, this was the ONLY thing Morgan would stay asleep in. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I would end up passing out on the couch while she was in the swing. Why did we never think to move it into our bed room? I do not know! But I would definitely recommend this item to new mamas! I love love love it and at 6 months old, she still has her days where she's just fussy and hard to get to sleep, but this swing never fails to do the job!
  • WubbaNub Infant Pacifier- Morgan wasn't really big on sucking on a binky, and still really isn't, but this item is still a favorite for me because of how much she loves the stuffed animal part (She has the pink cat one). We bring this every where with us and she even falls asleep with it in her hands sometimes. Now that she is teething she likes to suck on the cloth part. Something tells me someday I'll have to cut the binky part off so she can still keep the cat haha!
  • Aden + Anais Classic Muslin Swaddle Blanket- I cannot say enough good things about these blankets! They come in the most adorable patterns and are the softest thing ever.  They have been so perfect for us, and they can be used for much more than swaddling. I use them for a carseat cover, tummy time blanket and I always keep one in the diaper bag for when we go out and about! Since I had Morgan in the summer they were great to swaddle her up in and still keep her cool since they are so thin and breathable. Now that we are into the colder months, I put her to sleep in a fleece sleeper along with the Aden + Anais blanket loosely wrapped around her, and she never overheats. These should be on every new moms registry!
  •  Tommee Tippee Bottles- Not a lot to say about these other than they worked out perfectly for Morgan.  I bought them with the intentions of nursing her and also pumping and introducing them at a some point. I ended up exclusively pumping for her so she always drank the mom milk out of these and we never had issues with gas or anything. They are suppose to be good for going back and forth between breast and bottle but I can't say for sure that they do, but I plan on using this brand for baby #2.
  • Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Lotion- I use this every night on Morgan and I love the smell of it! I don't know that does much to help her sleep, but it keeps her smelling good and her skin soft. I had tried Aveeno before this and it dried her out, but we've had no  problems since making the switch. I also use the bedtime wash during her baths.
  • Coconut Oil- This is a MUST HAVE for new mamas! It is seriously a cure all, if you haven't heard people raving over this lately then you might be living under a rock! (seriously, are you?) Morgan developed a mean diaper rash when she was a few weeks old, and you name it, we tried it! Finally I had someone recommend this for it, and since I already had some I gave it a try, and it cleared up within a couple days! I always keep a little container of this by our diaper changing station, and anytime she starts to get some redness I use it. It's also great to use for dry and cracked nipples, for you breast feeding mamas!

*Flash Back Friday*

So I decided every Friday I'd do a little flash back into our lives, Morgan is 6 months old and I am 24 so we, of course, had a lot of life before I started writing here! I hope you all like it!

This was our second trip to Capital Lake, the first one Morgan was still so little and she was in her stroller, so it was fun to bring her out and let her check out her surroundings. It was hot that day, hotter than normal for a Washington summer. We can't wait to bring her back when she's older and can enjoy it even more. We love our little city and raising Morgan here is going to be tons of fun <3
